Holistic Health Coaching + Interior Design/Staging

After 22 years in the Interior Design/Staging field, Lisa Plimpton of Plimpton Design is now certified as a Holistic Health Coach. She still provides staging and design services, but is now integrating those with the field of holistic nutrition. Lisa believes that the quality of your external environment (your home) is an important part of how you feel about your life and yourself, and she believes just as strongly that the health of your interior home (your body) is just as important if not more so.

The choices you make reflect on how you feel about yourself and make a difference between becoming healthy and happy or staying sick and stuck. Through coaching in nutrition, physical activity, and lifestyle changes, Lisa will help you make better choices and re-design a new you!

Other Services Offered: De-cluttering, cupboard cleansing, cooking classes, and health store tours

Home Staging

Similar to a product on the shelf at your local store, your home has features and benefits but faces competition from other homes. To compete in the marketplace, your home must be priced right and look better than other products. Your home is one of many homes for sale and you must present it to buyers in the best possible light.

Staging is the process of preparing any home for sale, regardless of price or location. Home Staging may include the re-arrangement of furniture, accessories, de-cluttering and possibly a new color palette. Our goal is to draw the eye to the key selling points of the home and instill a feeling of welcome and comfort. Staging is not decorating. Decorating means personalizing your space; staging is
de-personalizing.

This unique system has proven to help sell homes faster and/or for more money. Real estate agents will have great confidence in showing your home to potential buyers because they know it is Staged and ready to be sold.

Why Stage your home?

There are few certainties in life, but we can guarantee that you will have a better chance of selling your home if you stage it than if you did not.

When selling your car, you would have it detailed, why not do the same before your home goes on the market?

We want to help you sell your home as quickly as possible for top dollar!

Staging creates a series of great impressions throughout your home, motivating the buyer to linger and move in, not on!

Staging Works

We were hired by a motivated client who had had his house on the market for 3 months. He was so frustrated by the lack of interest that he took it off and called us. After two weeks of painting and Staging, the house went back on the market and sold at full asking price in two days to the first person that walked in the door! The lesson here is to Stage your house BEFORE it goes on the market.

The rest is history

It was Monday and there was going to be a Brokers Open House at 10:00 on Friday morning. The owners already knew that they had a lot to do before the house was shown. The broker suggested to the sellers that I come give a bid to Stage and the rest is history. They had wallpaper stripped, walls and trim painted in some of the rooms, the carpets were shampooed, and a cleaning crew was hired. They had put a lot of their belongs in storage (we had to have them bring some pieces back). We bought new linens for the bedrooms, slipcovers, pillows, brought in some accessories, and furniture, had them install new ceiling lights and a new updated chandelier in the dining room, etc. It was just like one of the shows on HGTV!! They were running here and there doing what they could do. The painters were finishing up and we were working our magic. After only 3 weeks on the market the house was sold. In this market, that’s pretty amazing. The seller didn’t have to be told that Staging will cost much less than their first price reduction. Now they want us to come and Stage to live in their new home. Staging Works!

needed some love

This house had a bit of furniture and definitely had a lot of potential, but needed some love. It hadn’t been lived in for a while and felt cold. So we warmed it up with some soft pale colors on the walls, brought in some accessories and furniture. When we were completely finished Staging I suggested to the owner that the broker be called to see the results. She was so happily shocked by what she saw that they decided to ask $20,000 more than they were originally going to ask. It sold in three weeks for $10,000 above the very first original price.

testimonials

"My seller decided he wanted his house Staged so I gave you a call. Originally, before the house was Staged, we were thinking of putting it on the market for one price then after you finished Staging we were so impressed by the difference we listed it for $26,000 more than the original price. It sold in 3 weeks for $13,000 less than the asking price, but $13,000 more than the very first price we had in mind. For some short money (the Staging) my seller made much more than he had ever imagined!! Great job!! - Justine Augenstern Coldwell Banker Realtor Hull, MA

"After having the property on the market for 1 yr, I became the listing broker. Having had the listing for 8months during bad market and no offers I decided it would help if we gave Staging a shot so we called you. In 4 days you furnished and accessorized the vacant space. In just 3 weeks the property sold. I'm very greatful for your help and espertise! Thank you." - Midge Durgin Coldwell Banker Hingham, MA

How Best to Sell Vacant Home Depends on Why It's That Way

Staging speeds up sales in a sluggish market, and can bump prices 2% to 10% in a moderate market. The biggest advantage occurs with luxury homes or in a market with bidding wars over properties, where effective Staging can boost prices by 30% to 50 %.
